How long does it take to break a cat's begging habit?
Breaking a vocal conditioning habit typically takes anywhere from two weeks to several months of absolute consistency. The behavior will often get significantly worse right before it stops—a psychological phenomenon known as an "extinction burst"—as the cat tries screaming louder to see if the old method still works.
